When a Gamer's Dream Glitched Into Real Life: Inside Our Techno x GTA Film

Every kid who's ever picked up a controller has had the same fantasy: what if the open world on screen suddenly became the street outside your window? That's the question we chased with our latest film for Techno and now that it's out in the world, we wanted to pull back the curtain a little.

The story follows Techno, a streamer whose gaming account gets hacked mid-stream, pulling him into a very real, very Mumbai version of the missions he's only ever played. A mysterious mechanic, a shadowy fixer named Mr. M, a stolen F1 car, and a rooftop heist later Techno learns that courage and quick thinking matter a lot more than infinite respawns.

Visually, we leaned all the way into the GTA aesthetic: third-person camera follows, mission-style HUD overlays, wanted-level energy, and a soundtrack of honking taxis and local trains standing in for in-game ambience. The trick was making Mumbai itself feel like a level recognisable streets, real chaos, real charm so the line between "game" and "city" blurs just enough to be fun without losing what makes it ours.

Bringing it to life meant building Techno's RGB-lit gaming den from scratch, choreographing a rooftop cable-swing stunt sequence, and designing four distinct costume looks to track his transformation from streamer to reluctant hero all while keeping the tone squarely action-comedy, never taking itself too seriously. We shot across Mumbai's streets, a rooftop, a 44th-floor "Red Bull office," a supergarage, and a couple of practical homes chasing real locations that could double as in-game levels.

And here's the part most people won't guess: all of that the streets, the rooftop leap, the heist was shot in just 4 days. What you don't see on screen is the other 7 months, spent entirely in post, stitching together VFX, compositing the stunt work, and polishing every glitch and HUD overlay until the game-to-reality illusion actually held up. AI played a real part in that pipeline too from generating Techno's rapid-fire costume changes to enhancing live-action plates letting us punch well above a 4-day shoot.

Rohit Shetty needs a real budget, real cars, and real explosions to blow up half a street. We did it with 4 days, a rooftop, and a render farm and the cars are still in one piece.

This project has had us heads-down for the past three months, including a trip to our headquarters in London to align on the vision in person. None of it would have come together without the client and Techno himself going all in with us at every stage. Even at the pitch, we tested all kinds of AI variations before landing on the right look and once we committed, we built a dedicated AI lab just for this project, spending lakhs of rupees on AI tools for post and experimenting constantly as new models dropped almost daily.

Truth is, a good chunk of what looks like practical action is actually AI. The rooftop jump, the jet-ski chase, and several other "big" shots were never physically shot they were generated and refined entirely in our AI lab, then blended with the live footage so seamlessly you'd never know the difference.

As our director put it, this was never just about a heist it's a love letter to every Indian kid who grew up dreaming of living inside a video game.

The film is live now go watch Techno finally get his real-world side quest.
